Past Events

Sussex Harmony has performed West Gallery music in a wide range of venues.  The following list is of the performances over the past three years.  They include Concerts with various themes, workshops and Church Services.
 

2017

  • 1st October - Workshop for singers and instrumentalists followed by an Evensong at St Mary’s, Hailsham Parish Church, Hailsham
     
  • 7th October - Harveys Old Ale harvest service, St Thomas, Lewes
     
  • 15th October  Lewes Folk Festival  Workshop of West Gallery favourties Royal Oak, Lewes

2016

  • 22nd May  Workshop for singers and instrumentalists followed by an evenings service. . St Mary’s, Hailsham
     
  • 9th October. West Gallery Workshop and Evensong for Musicians and Singers. Trinity St Johns (aka John sub Castro), Lewes
     

2015

  • 29th December.  Carols at The Dorset Arms, Lewes.
     
  • 19th December. Christmas Concert at Holy Trinity Hurstpierpoint - part of the “West Gallery Concert Series”.
     
  • 17th December. A Carol Concert.  St Peter’s Preston Park, Brighton.
     
  • 13th December. A Concert at Michelham Priory, Upper Dicker, East Sussex.”A vibrant selection of carols and Songs from Sussex and beyond. 1700 - 1850.”
     
  • 3rd October: Harvey’s Harvest Thanksgiving service, St. Thomas A’Becket, Lewes
     
  • 4th July:  Sacred Harp Day.  St Michael’s, South Malling, Lewes.
     
  • 14th June: Workshop and Service celebrating the Waterloo bicentenary, St Laurence Church, Catsfield.
     
  • 16th May: ‘Sing and Joyfull be’: a Concert at St John the Evangelist, Burgess Hill.
     
  • 7th March:  a Nathaniel Cooke program,  St Nicholas Church, Brighton.
     
  • 18th January: Workshop and Service, Methodist Church, Stanford Avenue, Brighton
     

2014

  • 27th December:  ‘Carols’ at the Rights of Man, Lewes
     
  • 14th December:  Carol Service at St Michael’s, South Malling, Lewes.
     
  • 18th December:  Carol Service at St Peter’s, Preston Park, Brighton.
     
  • 20th December: ‘Carols from the West Gallery’ , Holy Trinity church, Hurstpierpoint.
     
  • 29th November: ‘We Singers make Bold ‘  Punnets Town Village Hall, Concert  in aid of the village hall funds.
     
  • 4th October: Harvey’s Harvest Thanksgiving service, St. Thomas A’Becket, Lewes
     
  • 5th July: Sacred Harp Day.  St Michael’s, South Malling, Lewes.
     
  • 22nd June:  ‘And Every Voice a Song ‘ St Mary’s Church, Warbleton, Concert in support of the Bell Restoration appeal.
     
  • 13th March:  Concert, St John sub Castro, Lewes.
     

2013

  • 19th December:  Carol Service at St Peter’s, Preston Park, Brighton. ‘Seasonal Songs and Readings’.
     
  • 15th December:  Carol Service at St Michael’s, South Malling, Lewes.
     
  • 13th October:  ‘Sankey and Moody’ concert, part of Lewes Folk Festival. St Anne’s, Western road, Lewes,
     
  • 5th October:  Harvey’s Harvest Thanksgiving service, St. Thomas A’Becket, Lewes
     
  • 22nd September:  ‘Music and Readings around the Year’  Waldron Festival, All Saints Church, Waldron.
     
  • 6th and 7th July:  Sussex Harmony 21st Birthday celebratory weekend: A Sacred Harp day on the 6th and a Workshop followed by an Evensong service on the 7th.  St Michael’s Church, South Malling, Lewes.
     
  • 6th June:  ‘Music of Rural Sussex’, Concert, St. John’s Church, Burgess Hill.
     
  • 4th April.  Concert for the Kingston Women’s Insstitute, Kingston.
